At the first sonogram, we agreed to take part in a study that is designed to identify new tests to predict complications in pregnancy. The only extra requirements are that Charlotte has to have 2 additional blood tests done and Ryan has to have the inside of his cheek swabbed for a DNA sample. We also have to have 2 additional sonograms done, one at 28 weeks and one at 36 weeks, whereas normally (here anyway) you would just have one done at 12 and another at 20 weeks. It also means we get the schwanky and more lengthy sonograms to test everything from blood flow to the baby's kidneys to the thickness of the placenta.
The room was dark, but Ryan was able to take 3 long videos of the process. You'll hear our sonographer describing what she is doing along the way and telling us what we are seeing. We were both totally amazed and enjoyed all the extra time we got to see more of our Little Miss.
